Who is Kelsey?

Hi! It’s me, Kelsey! A therapist who gets it and wants to provide some free resources, tips and psychoeducation. I will be sending out a monthly Blog that will deep dive into a certain topic and provide you with some resources and a book recommendation

So Why am I? I have been in practice for over 10 years and have worked in community clinics, hospital and crisis settings and now solely in private practice in San Diego, CA. I offer therapy virtually across CA and FL, and in person sessions in San Diego to individual adults, couples, teens and parents who need support. Areas of expertise are in attachment styles and relationships, sex and intimacy, inner child wounds, hyper independence, and trauma.

My approach is collaborative and rooted in evidence-based practices with a modern twist. No one wants a stuffy therapist who just nods their head and says, “how does that make you feel?”.  When all is said and done, you want a therapist who just gets it, and I get that.

I work with high achievers who are tired of feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and let down by the other people or systems in their lives. I work with people who struggle with attachment wounds and childhood traumas. These often impact relationships and can leave people feeling stuck or unfulfilled with their love live. If you feel like you have to do it all, and have a hard time letting anyone in, I can help. Hyper independence and codependency go hand in hand and often keep people feeling stuck and out of control. Intimacy and sex can be affected by one or all of these things, and often comes up as a symptom or a crucial part in a relationship issue. I help clients work through intimacy struggles and create a healthy and satisfying sex life.

In simple terms, I work with all thing’s relationships. Relationship to self, relationship to others, and relationship to the world you want and deserve to thrive in.

My clients have described sessions as conversational, challenging and my favorite, humorous! Because sometimes laughter truly is the best medicine. I will celebrate your wins and be your personal hype girl, and I’ll sit with and support you when things are tough. If spirituality (hippy stuff) is your thing, we tie it in. If not, that's cool too!

Keep a look out for the next post! You will get one sent automatically to your email monthly, with a few surprises sprinkled in throughout the year. If you are struggling and want to connect with a therapist with years of experience, who won’t judge you, your partner or your family click here to contact me and get started!
